CBB of Math: Geometry

Location:

Date:
June 7, 2017 - 9:00am to June 8, 2017 - 3:00pm

Participants are advised to attend three modules that would be most beneficial to their job assignment. The fraction module would be helpful to both elementary and middle school teachers. Geometry can be relevant to more than one level but is presented with an emphasis on middle school. High school teachers that teach students with math difficulties will find all three middle school modules or the fraction module would benefit their teaching.

Objectives of the Series are:

  • To build a teacher’s knowledge base around the building blocks of numeracy
  • To provide strategies for teaching content and differentiating instruction
  • To develop a deep conceptual understanding of the core components of numbers and operations
  • To enhance professional growth within the school through coaching

The Conceptual Building Blocks of Mathematics Series includes:

  • Elementary Addition/Subtraction:  October 13-14
  • Middle School Ratio/Proportion:  December 8-9
  • Elementary Multiplication/Division:  January 25-26
  • Middle School Algebraic Reasoning:  February 16-17
  • Fractions:  March 16-17
  • Geometry:   June 7 & 8
