New LBD Teacher Bootcamp
This series of training and coaching support is meant to provide new (0-2 years’ experience) LBD teachers activities that are grounded in research-based practices to increase teacher skill-sets and administrator understanding of indicators of high quality teaching and learning for students with Learning and/or Behavioral Disabilities (LBD).
THE DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION IN EACH MEMBER DISTRICT WILL SUBMIT NAMES FOR THIS CADRE.
New LBD Teacher Boot-Camp is a learning series that will focus on supporting special education teachers for the 99% and bringing rigorous academic instruction for all students. The goal of the series is to build the instructional capacity of KEDC’s Special Education teachers to increase academic achievement for students with learning/behavior disabilities.
The series will include training in explicit instruction, co-teaching, working with paraprofessionals, applied behavior analysis (PBIS, classroom management, de-escalation strategies), social/emotional learning instruction, accommodations and modifications, IEP development, progress monitoring, functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plan development, continuous classroom improvement, evidence-based reading and math instruction in the resource setting.
