The
Center for STEM+eXcellence (a department of the
Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics) is partnering
with the Kentucky Educational Development Corporation to deliver an Idea Festival at
Morehead State University on Thursday, September 21 for the 9^th
and 10^th grade Gifted and Talented students from counties in the eastern part of the state. “Ideas are the Currency of the Future” is this year’s
theme.

The Idea Festival schedule includes TED-like guest speakers in the morning and academia and industry-led engaging exhibits in the afternoon including a Maker Space.
The goal of Idea Festival is to provide students with an opportunity to consider their “future” as they connect with and learn from university professors and students, the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics, regional businesses and entrepreneurs,
and experts in the aerospace field.

Registration The student registration cost is $10.00. Chaperones, bus drivers and other non-student
attendees may attend at no cost but must register. Registration closes September 15, 2023.Registered participants will be emailed a packet of information closer to the event date. The maximum capacity for this event is 200 students.

Financial Support

The Center for STEM+eXcellence will support schools needing financial assistance. Support includes student registration fees, reimbursement for transportation,
and substitute teacher costs. Please fill out this form to place a financial assistance request.
