Intended Audience: Instructional Supervisors, Chief Academic Officers, PD coordinators, Instructional Coaches

Description KEDC PDC and IS cadre will allow the participants to spend time refining their role-specific work. Throughout the year participants will: consider ways to improve teaching and learning attendance, discuss ways to leverage community and school partners, present their own problems of practice and work together to create solutions, review and discuss ways to apply technology as an efficiency tool in their own practice and in classrooms, discuss equity issues in educational settings, hear from state and national experts and most importantly learn from and with each other.

Topics will include current research in teaching and learning, ways to work with school and community partners to improve academic performance, using technology to enhance teaching and learning, addressing equity in schools and classrooms, communication strategies, and effective record keeping. 

KEDC PDC and IS cadre may include Panel Q and A sessions, open forum conversation time, presentations by KDE staff, presentations by experienced IS/PDC members, and sharing of research.

3 hours EILA will be provided

New School Counselor Academy

Intended Audience: recommended for school counselors with 3 years or less experience

DescriptionThese sessions are geared towards new school counselors with 3 years or less experience, but if you have others that want to join, they are more than welcome.  These sessions will have a workshop format and allow participant to learn more about tier 2 and 3 supports, create plan by reviewing their school’s data, practice scenarios and  be connected to resources.

Description KEDC GT Educators cadre will allow the participants to spend time refining their role-specific work.   Throughout the year participants will: consider ways to improve gifted identification procedures and services, discuss ways to leverage community and school partners, present their own problems of practice and work together to create solutions, review and discuss  research, learn ways to apply technology as an efficiency tool, hear from state and national gifted experts, collaborate to create regional events for gifted students and most importantly learn from and with each other.

Intended Audience: Anyone assisting with school district transportation

Description KEDC Director of Transportation cadre participants will allow the participants to collaboratively learn and spend time refining their work. Throughout the year participants will: discuss district maintenance planning and oversight, determine how to assess transportation needs including the long range transportation services plan, consider changes to maximize efficiency and cost effectiveness in transportation, review and refine how to recruit and oversee transportation employees, review and discuss on-going and timely safety initiatives, apply technology as an efficiency tool, hear from state and national experts and most importantly learn from and with each other.

By participating in this cohort, educators will have an opportunity to collaborate and learn with other T&L educators, meet with organizations and partners who can assist in meeting the needs of their students and get resources and opportunities that can be applied in the T&L classroom
